Richard, Chuca --

In some ways this vindicates the concept of spreading investment among the desert dirts. If one could invest only in the winner in the basket, things would be great. But that ain't the way it happens...

If one had invested equally in 3-4 DD's two years ago and had included Maxam and MG as well as IPM and, say, Naxos, one's current portfolio would look grim, but one's future would look bright indeed. At least to these old eyes.

Richard, I think your speculation is not wildly out of touch. Speculation, yes, but methinks you have a helluva good understanding of the ways events flow in the desert.

Best, Ed
