I have traded options for the past 15 years. I like them a lot.

I only purchase call options on companies that I would want to have in my portfolio anyway. Just as purchasing a Call option can allow the longs some additional leverage for an expected rise in the stock, so to will the Put options provide the investors with some insurance in the event of a potential price drop. However, it is interesting that some people are commenting on the lower volatility in the Bid.Com shares of late.

Both the Put and Call options will provide the traders with an opportunity to maximize their leverage on the movement of this stock.

The writing of Puts or Calls can provide some added insurance to the writer, and it can basically guarantee a locked in rate of return for your investment.

So in summary, I believe that as a long term investor this make the stock much more interesting as it has effectively reduced the risk of ownership considerably.

Over the next while, I see it attracting the attention of the more established investors and investment houses. I will definitely be a plus when we go to Nasdaq!

This is a very good thing!

i noticed that the vols were hovering around 100. to many derivative strategists, this would signal a sell sign on the options which could be good for the stock in the long run...
