*Russia and cdmaOne* Mark I doubt that Russia is a single entity now. Maybe one company didn't pay a debt and this is another company altogether with neither debt guaranteed by the Russian government. I hope that Qualcomm does careful creditor due diligence on vendor financing arrangements. Plenty of people around the world never have any intention of paying their debts.

I suppose vendor finance risk is low as in the case of Chile where the customer or joint venture partner goes broke. The infrastructure is still there and Q! can simply refer to the contract and take over the network, operating it themselves [or selling it to Leap to operate].

Meanwhile, I hear from a Taiwanese friend that a cdmaOne system is to be built in Taiwan. So that's the first inroad there for cdmaOne. I don't have the timing but I suppose construction will be well underway this year and operation started this year.

Well, the thread is quiet, the AGM is finished and the earth stood still so I guess it was just the display of the ThinPhone, some audiovisuals about WirelessKnowledge, maybe a Globalstar launch, demonstration Globalstar handsets, pdQ, some MSM3000 and MSM3100 sprinkled around, [or some silicon chips with the letters stamped on anyway], happy comment that Korea ended up fine in 1998 despite the worries, Japan is booming with network expansion hurrying and NTT sweating and Ericy nearing acceptance of some very profitable terms for Q! No doubt Wireless Business Solutions rolls on regardless, Eudora is hanging in there, Cinecomm is dressed and ready to go, WirelessKnowledge polishing their act, ASIC and handset sales are booming, cdma2000, HDR are now in early commercial trials, Qcell Babes are doing fine and infrastructure is trimmed, heading for profit with joint venture possible. Globalstar is going well with gateways selling like hotcakes. An early and urgent rollout of Globalstar at low minute prices is going to see huge handset demand with very high handset prices for 2 or 3 years. WWeb is looming large and Q! is perfectly positioned for it with IP stacks [Internet Protocol] in the handsets and IP [Intellectual Property] for sale.

Q! closed today at an all time high, reaching $73.75 during the day, on 3.6m shares with big volume over two days.

What a nice day!
