When do the OEM's announce their next graphic card selections?

If anyone has a date or timeframe I'd love to know.

The Voodoo3 reviews are overall good, but I'm becoming a firm believer that we'll be matched or beat shortly. I don't think I can wait for Rampage without *two* top OEM wins to support faith in TDFX managment.

If our technical achievements are only slightly outpacing the industry, then our sales, marketing and management had better pick up the slack. So far, I don't see it that way. JMHO.

Regards,
Stuart

Re: Sharkey - Ouch!

Today's piece sounds like less like an objective opinion and more like someone who's (understandably) fed-up from dealing with a balky piece of hardware. I know that I go through manic-depressive swings depending on whether or not my new hardware purchase works or not. I suspect that when they get a working V3 3500, they'll feel much better.

Re-reading the article and discounting the emotional stuff, their main gripe is the price of the 3500 and the (irrational IMHO) belief that nVidia will ship a perfect part on time and for much less money. That's a classic geek fallacy in the technology arena - things that don't exist are ALWAYS better than things that do. The exact opposite is true.

Sharkey's contention that V2-SLI owners won't upgrade to the 3500 is simply false. V2-SLI owners are performance phreaks. The concept of either increased framerate at the same resolution (1024) or greatly increased resolution (1280, 1600) at playable framerates is what these guys are dying for.

As to the price issue, this is _exactly_ why 3Dfx bought STB - to prevent pre-ship price erosion based on rumors from competitors. The Banshee pricing debacle won't be repeated.
