After the close, CFM Technologies (CFMT -1/8 at 11 1/2) reported a Q1 net loss of $0.37 a share, $0.03 cents narrower than expected, versus year-ago loss of $0.09 a share, and Q4 loss of $0.43 a share... Like other chip equipment makers, year-ago comparisons not all that important... CFMT showed sequential improvement in earnings and net sales which were up 9% to $6.1 mln from Q4... Gross margins also improved to 20.1% from 2.2% in Q4, but were down from 44.2% in prior-year period.
