Merlo - You are absolutely correct if AMD can produce K6-III and K7 that perform reliably, can be delivered on schedule and in volumes suitable for major box makers. And it should be a piece of cake because AMD has never:
(1) misled investors about it's current manufacturing capability
(2) had yield problems
(3) screwed up going from one feature size to a smaller feature size
(4) had problems with large (>150) die
(5) had development programs that came in late
(6) had speed bin problems

Ask yourself one simple question. Why should a company withdraw from THREE major tech conferences just as it is introducting its new top-of-the-line product? Why? It must be because they don't want to share their good news with prospective investors like mutual fund managers and the like. Could it possibly be that there are problems that they desperately don't want to acknowledge or highlight in a public forum where they don't control the questions? Why would they pull out knowing that Wall Street vigorously detests companies that pull out of these things because Wall Street then believes they have some bad news they are more than a little embarassed about.
