CISCO
Great picture on the front page of this week's PCWeek magazine (hardcopy only?). Big grey gorilla with a CISCO hat sitting in a corner. Title is "King of the Jungle - Cisco's grip on the networking market keeps prices high, rivals out."

Tony Viola, re:ATHM/T/TCI

Tony, I hope this Monday treated you well. From what I can tell from my readings and discussions with people in the industry, AT&T is behind the scenes working on a master plan which brings their great "customer service" capabilities to the front lines. ATHM has the pipe, the gateway to the goldmine inside the home. Their window of opportunity will not stay open forever, however, as the marketing threats of DSL and other platforms will slowly start nibbling on ATHM's market. They must act quickly.

That is where AT&T comes in. For many reasons, AT&T is the best choice to take the marketing face away from those bumbling fools -- the traditional cable MSOs. And AT&T will act fast as they know the market will not stand still and wait for them.

I anticipate a slew of announcements by AT&T/ATHM over the next two to three months that reflect this aggressive move to market and win customers.

Thanks,
Teflon
