Earlie,

We've all had some fun with these threads and your observations are well thought out.

Now for the question.

What could go wrong (so that you're wrong) and why?

Earlie

I read an interesting article in today's WSJ re: server sales/units as reported by IDC. Has this already been discussed (ie, is it old news?)

"Market research firm IDC estimates that world wide server sales last year amounted to $59 billion, or almost a third of the 1998 PC market. While that sales figure is down 1.7% from the previous year, that is only because average server prices are falling although demand has been skyrocketing."

Thanks

Mike

Gateway 2000 Inc. (GTW): Analysts are expecting the No. 2
direct seller of personal computers to report a positive sales
outlook, introduce new management and possibly outline a new
strategy to sell computers over the Internet at a meeting later
today. Gateway rose 3 3/16 to 82 1/2.
