"a market cap of $1.3 billion as a pittance"

That is my view exactly in making GZMO my first decent biotech holding. Not being a scientist I had to rely on my biotech PhD
daughter's view on their work. But I relied on my own expertise in assessing the value of their GENZ relationship. In my opinion, this relationship, in terms of access to management, good lawyers, top notch employees, financing, production, marketing, leading research teams and their developments, competent handling of the FDA, etc. is worth the entire present market cap EVEN IF IT WERE A STARTUP WITH NO PRODUCTS IN R&D -- which is far from the case.

How's that for a non-scientist's point of view?

<I consider MLNM to be one of the top four drug discovery engines in the world>

Richard, I am curious as to what your other three top drug discovery companies are. I'm trying to putting together a long term buy-and-hold biotech portfolio, because I am convinced that biotech will be one of the key transforming technologies of the next few decades, and I would like to ride the wave... The problem is that I have NO background in this area (unless 10th grade biology counts <G>). But I am determined to persist for better or worse (hopefully better) despite my ignorance. So far I have a fair amount of INCY [I caught it on the recent pre-earning announcement dip], a little MLNM and a little SEPR.

Anyhow, I would be interested in learning the other three companies so that I can look into them.

Thanks,
gue
