Creative accounting...

The hypothesis of my study is that global financial markets are being destabilized by this pyramid scheme as investment flows into these companies based upon earnings reports that do not truly reflect the results of operations.  This is similar to the Japanese financial crisis of the late 1980's which also resulted in an asset bubble created by a breakdown in financial reporting.

I have since spoken with several representatives from Microsoft and their response is that  "everyone is doing it."
