What OS platform are you running IE5 on and what service packs are installed? If running Windows NT you need Win NT sp4, DMAC 2.1, and ODBC 3.5 If running Windows 98 you need sp1 If running Windows 95 you need sp1 I ran into similar problems in my lab when the OS was not at the current revision levels. Also it makes a difference as to which version of IE5 you downloaded. If you loaded IE5 Releace Candidate 1 or 2 they didn't work no matter what you tried. If you loaded IE5 Beta RC 1 it was a crap shoot and worked 50 % of the time. If you loaded IE5 Beta Release then you should have upgraded your OS first. Going back and trying to load the Service Packs after loading IE5 didn't solve the problem. If you removed IE5 and reloaded IE4 you should upgrade IE4 to IE4 SP1a which is now available for download. This can be done easily by going to the Help menu and selecting Product Upgrade. This will automatically connect to MS and upgrade your IE4 to the current revision level. A word of warning...If on a modem, it will be slow so it is best to start prior to going to bed. If you get up in the night for a nightly snack, check the upgrade for its progress. You might have a message asking to overwrite newer files. Always select No to All for this message. Once the full release of IE5 comes out on March 18th do not download it until I've had a chance to test it in my lab. I'll give a full report on it shortly there after. However, my sources in MS tell me that there will be a service pack released against IE5 Release within a month after the initial release. I'll keep everyone posted. At the Rookie Daytrader ( rookiedaytrader.com ) we run most versions of MS's Windows products. We are a member of MS's Developer network, MSDN, and receive all of the Beta's, RC's and SDKs prior to release to the general public. However, WindowsNT is our predominate and specialized OS. If you have any questions about the MS Windows products, I'll try my best to answer them as I have time, however, for the next few weeks answers will be delayed until the next day. In the mean time, MS's knowledge base at microsoft.com should help a lot. Regards, Gregg
