T2k and my fellow MSFT longs,

How are you doing this evening? Everything ok I hope. I must tell you that today's market action has me pretty excited. But maybe there is even more to be excited about than we are really giving credit for. Forget, for a minute, about all our discussions regarding the timing of our purchase of April Call Options! I have spent a lot of time thinking about this article which talks about Ballmer's new tough-guy approach to managing MSFT going forward.

Being a MSFT long for several years, I have come to think of Mr. Gates as the best of the best when it comes to growing the world's most valuable company. This trial, however, has demonstrated that Mr. Gates is probably a great visionary, but leaves a little to be desired as far as building a solid management infrastructure upon which to support MSFT's massive growth.

For this reason, I think the Trial has done us all a great service. By exposing MSFT's weaknesses, weaknesses that are focused on the management and organization of this great company, the DOJ has shown Mr. Gates the underlying problems in his organization without having to wait for slowing sales/margins and declining share prices to show him the hard way.

So Mr. Ballmer has arrived just in time, and MSFT will probably come out of this whole exercise a stronger, more focused company, with real purpose as it moves forward. On top of this, I expect the hard lessons have been learned (i.e., avoid sending utterly stupid emails on sensitive subjects) and MSFT will be able to avoid similar type encounters with the DOJ in the future.

Even better, I have visions of MSFT rebounding from this ordeal and beating on the competition!!!!!!

Just some of my thoughts to invest by.....

Thanks,
Teflon
