Charles, I had to laugh at the few posts on the Corel thread. Cannuck memories for me. I don't think Anthony is shorting Corel. Anthony are you?

The thing with shorting a Cdn stock, if you are from the USA and not knowledgeable of the cdn mkt/stk in question, is you have to fight the longs in Canada as well as the longs in the USA. And with Corel, a lot of funds own the co. so your fighting players who can put blocks through in no time that blindside you.

Cdn co's (forget the vse crap) are generally way less hype. Look at the BB's in the USA - typically a lot of hype on the US ones, but Cdn BB stocks in general appear more legit. Follow the 10:1 ratio on this as well.

Shorting from Canada is done quite frequently. I rem one stk in its less flourishing days named WINR. When I mentioned the co to the Cdn guy as Winner (phonetically), he said "or whiner depending on how you look at it".

The SEC still doesn;t think the Cdn co's are regulated as strictly as those in the USA (VSE and somewhat ASE, likely true), but the TSE and ME co's regulation quite good, imo. Harder to do biz from USA into Cda than the other way around.

Thgt u might appreciate some info. On Corel, have to watch the cross ownership, the reverse merger on the US BB stk, etc. Tried to buy a lot of COSFF those few days ago and only got a smaller fill - it went up more afterwards and stayed up.
Similarly today when I tried to go long on ABTEE at 6 5/8 (the Ask at that pt) the first time - my buy order (thinking to avg in) sat there for almost 4 stinking minutes without being filled. Meanwhile about 10,000+ shares went thru. Cancelled my order. Next thing u know, stock is moving up. Thank God it cycled back down somewhat after some time and I was able to buy.
