China's Great Wall Telecom is close to commercial launch of its CDMA system.China's bureaucracy in telecom is the equivalent of the FCC regulating body owning the carrier ,which is the only telephone company in China which happens to be a GSM company, greatly supported by the European connection.Great wall telecom would challenge the GSM monopoly but is hafe owned by the above carrier and hafe owned by the army.Great Wall Telecom is close to commercial launch of the only CDMA system in China located in four cities and suddenly this announcement. They just don't get it.CDMA is coming despite Richard Siemens and his ignorant statements.

But industry executives say China's move makes sense from both a technological and financial
standpoint. "Why would you let anyone in your country waste money on a technology from some company
in California that everyone is trying to get rid of?"
asks Richard Siemens, chairman of Hong Kong
cellular company Distacom Communications Ltd.
