Dan, I couldn't agree with u more. this open-source code movement is awesome. I can't wait to get my hand on the 60M lines of code in Windows 2000, and hacking away on it. I believe if W2K is open source, it will be for the benefit of the consumers. The world's best programmers will get a chance to fix many of the bugs and problems that the current system has. Let's hope MSFT listen to us programmers and make the source code public.

Ed, Linux is just a "toy"? Isn't this similar to what many said of the first automobiles, that they were "just a toy for the rich". Come to think of it, many said that planes and tanks were just oddities that would soon disappear the first time they were introduced into combat.

Microsoft is my second largest holding in my portfolio, so I honestly hope you are right about it being a toy. But unfortunately I believe Linux and the open source movement represent the largest threats to Microsoft over the long term

Well, I have a sport car which is just like a toy to me for the week end. Not too many people buy sport car for week end driving, they all buy Toyota Camary, Honda !!
