Check UBID's close. Up from 67 to 80 the last 15 minutes on thin volume, around 100k. Time and sale shows a bunch of 100 200 share "blocks." Looks like the MM's just let it go. Probably a gap and trap in the morning, but with that high a percentage shorts someone may loaded up on MALL, and try to squeeze UBID up to move MALL. Small volume in UBID moves it and MALL a long way. No matter what, when this manipulation winds down it will make a great short.
Something I don't understand is I keep seeing these hype rumors that MSFT/EBAY/AMZN/YHOO/whoever is going to buy COOL or EGGS so they have a software e-tail sight. Or they're going to buy ONSL for an auction sight. Why wouldn't they buy MALL and have both. They could pay a huge premium for MALL and get 70% of UBID at little or no premium. Of course MALL turns a small profit on it's catalog and web business and that really screws it as a true internet play.
