New things from Shareholder Meeting:

1) Will set up phone manufacturing capability in Mexico later this year. (Although this has been mentioned before, it has always be more tentative - Today it was pretty concrete.)

2) For those who believe that CDMAOne is very restricted due to IPR etc, Qualcomm said that according to their best guess at the number of manufacturers there are 37 CDMAOne manufacturers world wide and only 22 GSM manufacturers.

3)Qualcomm has more than twice as many CDMA patents pending as already issued (463 pending, 189 issued).

Mike I agree I smell a HAGFISH.Dr Jacobs when asked about China gave the impression that things were looking brighter for commercial launch and that the density required in China would bode well for CDMA.Personally I would like to see a GSM WLL system keep up with an awesome CDMA system. In China you can't back up a step without stepping on some ones toes there are so many people.Who is this guy Simmons kidding with this crap about "why would you let anyone in your country waste money on a technology from some company in California that everyone is trying to get rid of?" WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!!!!!! China has to be salivating some very thick and tenacious saliva over the thought of a CDMA WLL system.
