I have purchased items 5 times so far. A 17" monitor, a notebook, a modem, a CD-rom drive, and a Kodak digital camera. All items came well packaged, delivery was fast, and I feel that I got a good deal on all the items. I am one of the many who do not like driving to the mall and dealing with large crowds and pushy salespeople. This is the way to shop.

Re: >> people on this thread who have purchased items from BII <<

Registered last week, "won" one item (CD-R burner), bid on a number of others using Bid Buddy but was out-bid. Shipping time/cost is reasonable; no complaints.

>> foremost the site itself offers very few bargains <<

I concur, selection on Canadian site is not great. US site has much more to offer, plus I love the Dutch Auction site on Bid.Com. I wish the Dutch Auction was available to Canadians as well... there are numerous items I would have loved to purchase at great prices.

If I shop online, I generally try and do so at Canadian companies, one reason being that I can pay with the loonie and know exactly how much I'll be paying after taxes and shipping. No duties/customs or exchange rate to worry about. Same with companies like Amazon.com; I'll shop at ChaptersGlobe.com any day -- books end up being cheaper almost always, and they get here faster. Selection is comparable.

>> products offered on the site are not very appealing <<

From time to time I'll see something I like, but again, the variety for Canadians is limited, IMO. I see more appealing products on the US site.

I'd love to see more offered on the Canadian site of Bid.Com, and I plan to continue browsing/shopping online at sites like Bid.Com.
