Wink Adds Cox
Communications in Palos Verdes to Launch
Schedule

ALAMEDA, Calif., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications (NYSE:
COX - news) customers in Palos Verdes, a metro-Los Angeles community,
will soon enjoy Wink's interactive ''enhancements'' as they participate in Cox's
trial of Wink Enhanced Broadcasting(TM) services.

Cox Communications and Wink Communications announced today that Cox's
Palos Verdes customers using the General Instrument CFT2200 advanced
analog set top will receive Wink's Enhanced Broadcasting and TV-based
E-commercials(TM). These new Wink-enabled services will be included in the
launch of a new product tier provided free of charge to all CFT2200
customers. Launch of the new tier and Wink services is planned for Spring
1999.

Palos Verdes is the first Cox system to trial Wink's Enhanced Broadcasting
technology and services.

''Wink's Enhanced Broadcasting and TV-based E-commerce services hold
great promise for Cox and for the cable industry as a whole,'' states Maggie
Bellville, Sr. Vice President of Operations for Cox Communications. ''We look
forward to learning much about the role interactive services can play in our
operations.''

Melinda White, Vice President of TV Sales for Wink Communications
commented, ''Cox has a well-earned reputation of innovative focus on the
customer. It's great to be part of this new product offering, adding even more
value to Cox's advanced analog customers through Wink E-commerce
service.''

The Agreement between Wink and Cox allows program-related data
enhancements to be delivered to customers. In addition to receiving interactive
program enhancements, viewers will be able -- while viewing regular television
commercials -- to order a brochure, coupon or product with a remote click
instead of dialing a toll-free telephone number. Announced providers of Wink
Smart Commercials(TM) include Procter & Gamble, AT&T, Charles Schwab,
Clorox, Levi-Strauss & Co., General Electric and Universal Pictures
Marketing.
