New York--Feb 23--The World Gold Council said today its board has appointed
Haruko Fukuda as its new chief executive officer, effective Mar 22. She
will also be appointed a director and will join the board of the WGC.
Fukuda succeeds E.M. Hood, who resigned from the WGC late last year to

New York--Feb 23--Mexico's Luismin, which produced 83,160 ounces of gold in
1998 and 5.4 million ounces of silver, has hedged about 80,000 ounces of
gold this year, with $400 as the floor and $419 as the ceiling. The company
has hedged all of its 1999 silver production at $5.55 per ounce, said

New York--Feb 23--Coeur d'Alene Corp has sold forward 50,000 ounces, 30% of
its 1999 and 2000 gold production, at a weighted average price of $385 per
ounce, but currently has no silver hedged, company officials said today.
Coeur d'Alene produced about 209,959 ounces of gold in 1998 and 10.7
