<<The ability to ship the lumber IS the bottle neck. And the key to their success >> David, this has been the problem all along. Dock space, and ships. You have to talk nice to these companies while they screw you and lie out there teeth to you. This raining season does not help matters either. You can not book every ship, they might all arrive or no one got the message. I have no idea if the Brazil Gov can change the destination of a ship when it is in Brazil waters. Most of the people who work for foreign countries gov have a problem of doing something for money. I know of one ship which took over 6 months to get to the Madera port. Madera reported the ship as if it were in port, but the SOB lied to Madera because I found the ship in Liverpool. It was a ship due in on Dec 20 to 23 two years ago and never got there till July. This is another reason why Madera does not release info on the movement of Wood. I shipped about 7 tons once with a Japan owned ship here in Houston and it took 9 months to get to Japan. Problem was a japan ship is not on a schedule, it can change destinations anywhere in route. So called free lance shippers. If they pick up a huge load here in Houston going to Brazil when the next port is Jacksonville Fla, they go to Brazil, then Jack Fla. Madera does use Mitzua (sp) for pick-up of its wood and a Brazil Shipping company. I wish it was a Metro route, because madera could ship 10+ loads per qtr. Madera is not without buyers of it wood here in the USA. I give credit to Madera for its ability to deal with this shipping problem, because if it were me, I guess they would have sent me to Jail over this matter.
