Last year they put two pits in on the dyke which suboutcrops under aproximately 12 feet of overburden. With an airtrack they drilled and blasted the overburden then the kimberlite and with a cat and front end loader pushed the waste aside and loaded the kimberlite.
This year they plan to take more material from those two pits and to put in a third on the north shore part of the dyke. Local Yellowknife crews have been hired to do the excavations and I understand they are on site working now. The material will be loaded on trucks and sent for processing.
