NP Energy Announces Corporate Re-Organization

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 1999--NP Energy Corp.
(OTC BB:NPEC - news) announced the appointment of Raymond D. Lazo of
California as president of the company.

Lazo replaces Larry Regis who will remain on the board of directors.

Increased activity by NP Energy in the telecommunications industry by
its subsidiary MetroPLUS Communications Corp. and the anticipated
renewed activity in its precious metal holdings motivated the
appointment of new officers and directors.

Lazo's business background as owner of several companies will bring
strong business acumen to the company.

Joining Lazo as vice president of exploration and development is Ralph
Bonham who, since 1960, has been active in gold recovery specializing in
the Placer gold recovery field. He has done extensive work in Utah,
Idaho, Montana, Arizona, Wyoming, California and Nevada gold fields. He
is Chairman of Mystery Gold, an organization whose membership boasts 200
years of gold expertise. He speaks Portuguese and will be involved in NP
Energy's Picone field in Brazil.

Jack Ginn, Larry Regis and Les Price remain as directors.

Larry Regis will remain as a director but his prime activity will be
with Medinah Energy as its president.
