Right. It sounded like a good strategy (although I had never thought of it). My remarks about selling puts being comparable to bad fills at orderflow brokerages was kind of a joke. What I was getting at is that if I want to own DELL at $85 so I sell a DLQ MAR85P taking my 4 1/2 per share, the only way in heck I will ever get the shares put to me is if they tank. The odds of the down move stopping at 84 7/8 are slim to none. So in that since, I like your idea of a calendar roll (assuming you are relatively certain that DELL will eventually return. It seems like that might be a great strategy selling puts on companies with recent upturns in RS (RS breaking above the 20 day EMA). I'm going to play with the idea some. Maybe figuring out what part of the option is intrinsic value and building in a stop loss strategy (buying back at a certain predefined price depending on days till expiration might work as well. Thanks. MLJ
