"specific highs and lows in cycle analysis....the cycle lows can be higher lows not necessarily new lows." But it is possible to calculate the highs and lows using OTHER forms of TA. Partial differentials of the index, and trends from it's components can be used to calculate a degree of trend lines with probabilities of directions, and strength. This then is used to construct a relationship of future trends. Add in earning streams, POG, rates, monetary policy, and other; and you can predict future index price.
