JC: If they are and they do the more power to them, I'll buy their products.

Well they are aren't, and they won't, and for the life of me, I can't understand what's holding up the MSFT valuation (multiple).

This company has a core competency in monopoly business practice, which appears to have seen it's salad days. Their core product licenses and core revenue come from Win32 OS and Microsoft Office.

With the paradigm shifting not only out of the end user context, but as well as away from software 'products' and toward software 'service', where does Microsoft have franchise? Can they suddenly make service a core competency that replaces the post DOJ v. monopoly product revenue stream?
