And thats OK because in these type of systems, the gold is usually
found within the pyrite lattice, tied up intimately with the pyrite grain...

A good indication, if a pyritic sulfide zone carries gold is if there are old placers or visible gold on the surface of the system
because the oxidized or weatered sulfides liberate the gold and IT
CAN be secondarily enriched.. Gold being one of the most stable
elements.. stays and the rest is removed.. a Generalized statement,
the above..

Do we really know that? All we know is they didn't report there was visible gold.
