Dreamweaver is probably the best Web page authoring solution available today. I use it every day and it is slick. I used to use CyberStudio but I switched to Dreamweaver when Adobe announced they were buying GOLive. On the flipside, I used to use Director and Flash but now I use Totally Hip's hot new LiveStage product to do the animated interactive rich media portions of web sites or corporate Intranets for my clients.

Apple seems to agree that the Dreamweaver and the LiveStage combination is hot. They started using LiveStage and are now promoting it use on one of Apple's hottest Web sites. The iMac site.

My friends at Apple use either Dreamweaver or Barebones BBEdit to do most all of Apple Web sites.

How does this sit with Director or Flash fans?

Why has Apple Computer chosen to use Totally Hip's LiveStage on the extremely popular iMac Web site instead of Director Shockwave or Flash?

This Apple iMac Web site gets millions and millions of page views a day. This is the best news ever for THW (Totally Hip) and you have to wonder why Apple didn't use Shockwave or Flash?

I'm certain that Apple used LiveStage because of its heavy QuickTime connection?

Of course Apple has a major investment in promoting QuickTime as a cross platform media solution and since they are set to announce the hot new streaming version of QuickTime 4 soon, this will probably spell some serious competition for Macromedia and Shockwave/Flash.

These LiveStage created interactive QuickTime movies will be everywhere soon, which bodes very well for Totally Hip. It will be hard for Macromedia to ignore Totally Hip and LiveStage after this type of massive exposure around the globe. Each time a major player uses LiveStage instead of Flash or Director Shockwave it spells serious competition.

Like I said, Macromedia better grab this hot company before the price gets too high and the LiveStage product reaches critical mass. If a competitior of Macromedia grabs Totally Hip I'd bet Macromedia will kick themselves for missing the opportunity. Within a few months it will be too late.

My guess is that Totally Hip has a focus to use and promote QuickTime as an alternative to Flash or Director and ShockWave.

Go to Apple's iMac Web site to see how Apple is sending millions of eyeballs to see what Totally Hip and LiveStage can do for a Web site.

When you Click on the link for LiveStage it sends the millions of eyeballs to Totally Hip's Web site.

Apple is giving Massive exposure for THW.

My friends at Apple and many other major companies such a the FOX Network, Disney Blast, and Pixar etc, are using LiveStage and QuickTime instead of using their old standby of Flash or Director Shockwave.

Expect more use of Totally Hip LiveStage on Apple's many Web sites and Totally Hip is rumored to be planning a release of LiveStage Professional within 4 months.

The competition begins. Even if LiveStage proves to be an excellent solution or alternative to Flash and Director, which I think it does represent, I will always use Dreamweaver 2. This is a hot product for Macromedia.

The 5 iMac colors?

Yesterday the Apple iMac puzzles created with Totally Hip LiveStage where bondi blue. Now they are Tangerine.

My friend at Apple said the LiveStage/QuickTime puzzles are hugely popular with Apple customers.

What iMac color will these puzzle chips be tomorrow? Lime, Grape, Blueberry, Strawberry?

That's why I hedged my bets and own positions in both Macromedia and Totally Hip.

I can't find any use of Flash or Shockwave on Apple's sites. Maybe I am not looking in the right place?
