Good comments. I personally would pony up plenty of bucks for a good, workable dictation system, but interestingly enough, neither my wife nor any of my kids are interested. They type effortlessly while the old man uses two fingers. They don't even have to look at the keys. (g) If the systems continue to improve, all of this could change. I've used several, but so far, haven't found one that does it for me. I'm all ears for comments from others on this topic.

Another point is that across much of Asia, it is the written language that binds and not the spoken language. People from one part of China can write to each other with full understanding, but cannot speak to each other at all. This is amazing to us, given the phonetic relationship between our written and spoken languages, but that relationship is far from universal.

Best, Earlie
