My wife brought a dog home from the shelter. Mutt but a lot of greyhound. She kills more rabbits and squirrels in a month than our 4 cats do in a year.

Yes, it was definitely a male cat. We would have been happy to let it live in our cellar, to which all the beasts of the wild seem to have access, but the smell made it impossible. It settled for the tool shed, which we could cope with.

We went into the woods after it with a blanket, but didn't find it. I was thinking there must have been a trap of some sort out there that injured it, but I don't think anything is being trapped in this neighborhood. And there are many dogs in the area, and i've never heard of one getting caught in a trap. i wonder if it was more likely attacked by a dog.
