Barnes has logistics but not centralized e-commerce logistics. It is a seperate but different thing... I am just getting into looking at Barnes' automation so I don't know what they have. As an analogy, in 1994 Compaq had an entire logistics and distribution setup, way beyond anything that Dell had but Dell started with supply chain management from the ground up and we know the answer to that story. The question with regards to books will be whether Barnes can retrofit their arcane systems to the new model or not. I do know that Amzn has hired a lot of top technical talent from around here and Barnes has not.... personally I can see the results, but that is very superficial since I can't see their backoffice setup.
