Helius and Caldera Systems Announce Availability of First Satellite Internet Router Running Linux

biz.yahoo.com

Helius, Inc. and Caldera Systems, Inc. today announced the immediate
availability of the Helius Satellite Internet Router, the first all-in-one satellite router to provide universal Internet access and
support for small-to-medium sized businesses and K-12 schools.

Steps to Internet Access

The Helius Satellite Router provides rapid Internet access in three easy steps:

-0-

1. Turn Power On
2. Connect satellite dish to router
3. Connect router to network hub and ISP connection

The Helius Satellite Internet Router is the first Linux-integrated router with the capacity to connect an entire LAN to the Internet,
providing same-day Internet access and remote administration with the speed and stability of Caldera Systems' OpenLinux.
Through remote access, the Helius Satellite Internet Router can be installed in any country in the world and be configured by
Helius in the United States.

''This combination of satellite router technology and Linux meets an increasing market need,'' said Myron Mosbarger, Helius
president. ''Our customers have told us that they want high speed Internet access regardless of the availability of cable modems,
the phone company and/or expensive technical support. With our router you have Internet access anywhere in the world with the
support and stability of OpenLinux -- solutions that our customers are demanding.''

''This highlights the unique power of Linux in a mission-critical application,'' said Ransom Love, CEO of Caldera Systems Inc.

''We are often asked how Linux can be used to change the market. Using OpenLinux, the Helius Satellite Router runs extremely
fast and can be supported anywhere in the world. It doesn't get any easier than that.''

The Lassen County Office of Education agrees. With 5500+ students in 23 schools spread over 4,500 square miles in California,
some areas are so remote that telephone access is provided by radio. Linda Smith, Lassen County Instructional Media
Coordinator was tasked with finding a quick, non-support intensive, cost effective way for the schools to gain Internet access.
Enter the Helius Satellite Router.

''I am very pleased with it,'' said Smith. ''I was surprised at how easy it was to get it up and running. With support coming
directly from Helius we'll never have to wait for a technician to drive here or be left on the phone trying to explain what the system
is doing.''

The accounting firm of Davis, Nichols & Associates LLP of Valdosta, Georgia agrees. Their problem was cost.

''We couldn't get decent access in our area for less than $800-$1000 per month,'' said systems engineer, Stuart Avera. ''The
Helius/Caldera Systems solution came in at a fraction of that and it just sits in a corner and works.''

The Satellite Router will also be used by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services to provide data services for
34 youth correctional facilities throughout New York state.

System Requirements

Requirements for the Helius Satellite Router include an outside area for mini-satellite dish installation and ISP service. The router
will work with any network operating system including Linux, Novell NetWare, Macintosh, Sun Solaris and Windows NT.

Availability

The Helius Internet Satellite Router running OpenLinux is available through authorized Helius resellers and will be available from
Caldera Systems resellers in the near future. Each router comes with free 90-day support. Fee-based extended support and
software upgrade packages are also available.

Helius, Inc. was founded in 1995 and is a privately owned, Orem-based company funded by The Canopy Group. Helius
developed the first software to manage Internet transmissions from satellite to LANs. It developed Helius Optimized features that
improve the efficiency and usability of satellite transmissions for the network environment. For more information about Helius and
