NEWS RELEASE: Unique Broadband Systems Ships the first 1kW High Power S-Band Digital Transmitters. MARKHAM, ON, March 2 /CNW/ - Unique Broadband Systems, Inc. (VSE: UBS) has completed the development of its 1 kW High Power S-Band Digital Transmitter (both solid state and klystron) and has shipped the first transmitters to customers. The High Power S-Band Digital Transmitters have been designed for satellite digital radio applications. The transmitters are capable of producing output power in excess of 1kW of a digitally modulated signal. ''The High Power S-Band Digital Transmitters represent a milestone for the Unique Broadband Systems' engineering team. Completion of these units puts the Company at the forefront of the industry,'' said Alex Dolgonos, President & CEO of Unique Broadband Systems, Inc. The units are currently being used in feasibility studies for coverage pattern in terrestrial environments in various cities across the United States with several customers in the final stages of testing. Shipment of the units began with the fulfillment of a purchase order from one of the Company's customers. The transmitters will be utilized for the terrestrial portion of a 100-channel satellite-to-car radio system for the broadcast of music and other programming to motorists throughout the United States.
