I dont really understand "volatility" at all: it isnt just volume, is it, its how volume changes plus how the price fluctuates? How does one understand this more?
Perhaps for a while I should just stick to buying leaps and longer term calls.

very well put...the first thing any options buyer/seller needs to grasp is the volatilty factor...for it is from the volatility that positions can be set, with no need for adjustment...barring a unforeseen event...ed a.

I think most individuals unfortunately buy or sell options with no regard to their volatilities and how that single factor affects their pricing.

Now, I hear that DELL's IV is slowly getting down to more reasonable values. :-)
