Monish, I disagree. INR 25000 is less than the dual-income middle class take home monthly paycheck (excluding perks) after taxes. Now go back 6-7 years in USA and you could have made exactly the same arguments wrt monthly paycheck after taxes vs. box price and internet connectivity cost (which I agree is high, but it dropping and is no longer monopolistic; witness the drop in car prices once monopoly was removed). P166 (I think it includes the monitor though) may sound bottom of the line in the US, but it is just a matter of time, India may be back by a couple of years now, but it was back by 15-20 years a decade back. So the gap is narrowing. I remain cautiously optimistic. -BGR.
