There is a _rumor_ on the Rive3D board that Metabyte's technology will first be demonstrated with Banshee-based boards. riva3d.com

=============================
It looks as if the new SLI technology from Metabyte will be applied to the Voodoo Banshee first, as Metabyte is preparing a press/editor/website junket to see the technology in action, but only on the Banshee boards at this time. The TNT debut will happen after they do an "official" news release.
=============================

BTW, the rumors are that the technology works by splitting the screen in half horizontally and letting each board work on a different half. Some kind of video merging hack will put the final image together and, somehow, fix the line between the two halves. This is definitely NOT "Scan Line Interleave" technology.

Sun, re: the TNT2 SLI, how can the AGP bus speed make any difference? In the article at Sharky's, they suggest that it will take textures off AGP for whatever...I say not...if you are splitting the screen in half, and using a separate card for each, your speed is only as good as your slowest part. AGP should mean very little here.

As an aside, how many of you remember when Tom (as in Hardware) was denouncing AGP as nothing more than a marketing scheme by Intel?...he was right then, but ever since he seems to have an axe to grind with anyone that does things right (ie without AGP)....
