Burt, AMD is a great trading stock becauses it trades on hype, rumours, potential and not on fundamentals. AMD always has great potential, which makes the stock rise, and then when the Street realizes AMD will not make any money, the stock goes back down.
NOT a good hedge on Intel, however, but a good trade! Plus, the AMD thread is one of the most entertaining on SI....

Re: "Unfortunately it (the K6-3) also has that large (for AMD) die size and that 2.2 volt requirement"

Make that a 2.4 Volt requirement!

Dear Burt - I do understand the message you are trying to convey to me. Yes, AMD has not been perfect of late.
However, their products and current (and frequent) stock price makes AMD, once again, a stock with real potential.

The rather amusingly named K6-III

I wonder why it isn't the K-VI-III and the K-VII?
