hberg - 'last mile' refers to the ultimate connection everyone has in accessing the data that comes into our homes via computer, phone, tv, etc. If you consider the massive network making up the Internet (WWW) to be an 'Electronic Superhighway', then the terminations at everyone's house is more like 'electronic city streets' or the 'last mile'. The communications giants are all in a big competition for securing this access into everyone's home. So a 'last mile' play would be any company with anything to do with the end connection - LU, ATHM, PAIR, IFCI, even ABTEE. Cheers Mike
