Thank you Morpher. If this goes through, it'll be a HUGE change.

It will end trading as we know it - and when it goes to 24 hour trading - you will have to adjust. That will be the end of "gaps". Everything will be driven by news, and access to up to the milisecond news, will be crucial It would be great if Datek had streaming news headlines built into the streamer.

Great, now we can look forward to busy servers round the clock, instead of just the traditional trading hours :(

I really wish Datek would somehow solve the issue of server speed. Today was dismal on express servers (I checked my cable modem with other accounts I have with different brokers) - I suppose I should be grateful not to be a Charles Schwab customer.

As has been pointed out - for ISLD and Datek to really grow, it needs to generate volume. If you want to generate volume, you should make trading easy. That means, provide your active traders with SPEED (and I don't mean the controlled substance, though it certainly seems tightly controlled by Datek, they are very stingy with it).

Schwab, Datek, Ameritrade, Etrade.

All having difficulties, all still marketing knowing full well they can't handle the volume:

''It's not a matter of 'if the system crashes,' it's a matter of 'when it crashes,''' Gomez said. ''They are all still marketing aggressively, and they're not yet ready to handle all that volume.''

I never trade with Datek 9:30 - 9:50am
For all practical purposes I think they DO NOT provide service during these time frame. Should we expect the same quality in after hours trading? They should not claim the services they can not provide.
This is the subject of New York Attorney General investigation of E-Trade.
