>>EPAY has a big lead, and I believe they will do very well indeed.

Are you familiar with CheckFree or TransPoint? I don't know very much, I'm just trying to piece this whole thing together. But I think CheckFree is the leader in EBPP. They currently own 70% of the market.

FWIW, Wells is/was currently in pilot with TP, but that is going down hill fast. Perhaps Wells will pilot with EPAY also.

Wells Fargo Cuts Short Test Of a Transpoint Bill System

February 23, 1999

American Banker : Wells Fargo & Co. temporarily stopped its test of the Transpoint electronic bill presentment system, concluding that its current version "is not the ultimate architecture we plan to implement," said Sharon Osberg, a Wells senior vice president.

The banking company envisions an architecture that "would be built on standards," she said.

The pilot test, originally intended to last about six months and end about now, has been "dark" since just before the holiday season, Ms. Osberg said in an interview.

Wells was the first of eight banking companies testing the system by Transpoint, a bill presentment joint venture of First Data Corp., Microsoft Corp., and Citigroup. Dudley Nigg, now retired from Wells, initiated the project.

Calling standards "an industry issue, not a Transpoint issue," Ms. Osberg said Wells plans to resume testing Transpoint once there is a " substantial upgrade" of the software. Wells also plans to test bill presentment software from Checkfree Corp., she said............

I agree EPAY has a bright future. I use TD Greenline in Canada to pay my bills on the Net. It is all electronic no paper, direct from my account to my suppliers, great service so easy to use.
Go EPAY!!!!!

>>>They are all alike and send virtually all payments by paper checks.

Obviously, you have not done your homework. Most payments are sent electronically.

>>>Wells Fargo prints out a check, a pay slip and an envelope, and sends the payment in the mail - that's paper mail, US Post Office.

Wrong again. Wells doesn't do anything, CheckFree is at work here.

>>>EPAY has a big lead, and I believe they will do very well indeed.

Wrong for a third time. As others have stated EPAY is in business to business commerce, currently SE (Sterling Commerce) is the leader in this sector of the e-commerce industry.

EPAY, does not do on-line bill payment for consumers, or on-line bill presentation.

I use WF as well. Before I signed up for it, I imagined that it would involve EFT, not just another stamp licking service. I was real disappointed. Perhaps EPAY will change all that.

I bought in at $20 today. Was somewhat apprehensive over the backward looking P/E of 100. Does anyone know of a forward looking P/E based on expectations yet?
