No, Steve I don't think you are right. You are too quick to equate short term stock reactions as being the reaction to a short term event.

The stock compressed starting at around 2:30 eastern right along with the rest of the market in reaction to the weak bidding for bonds this afternoon.

Most institutions and analysts haven't even had the chance to analyze SEBL's new initiatives.

No one was expecting an acquisition. The announcements were pretty much in line with industry buzz.

I have no doubt that you think the sales.com was a huge mistake while I also have no doubt that you think every initiative from Vantive is god's gift to brilliant creative strategy.

While I think there are strengths and weaknesses at both companies, I can say with high conviction that SEBL will take share from Vantive once again in 1999. I also think that SEBL's new positioning is far superior to VNTV's. (Did Vantive actually build this strategy in concert with talking to current and prospective customers? It doesn't look that way.)

Yes, we'll see. And since we've both been around these threads for a long time, care to make a beer bet about the outcome and success between SEBL and VNTV in 1999?

Shege, care to set the parameters? And BTW, never got those damned T-shirts.
