Check out this site:

ndir.com

Lots of info on online Canadian brokers (I assume you were talking about online discount brokers). But don't base your choice on the survey (sample not big enough).

You'll have to come back in a few years, Sunny, and maybe, just maybe, the Canadian brokerage industry will have woken up, and two or three companies will be offering competent service.

The problem is that Canadians are too docile. We put up with, nay, actually elect, absurdly paternalistic governments because we have a deep conviction that somebody else must know better than we do. We don't question authority, and when a business rips us off, we just quietly take it, unless their offence was particularly egregious, in which case we might consider taking our business elsewhere. Of course wherever we take it will be just as bad. Eventually, unable to get a good head of steam on any indignation we might momentarily muster, we just give up and buy mutual funds.

SUN - Sorry - It will be tough to find what you want - I like Scotia and many have commented that overall it seems to do weel excpet their online service is slow

WE need a Champion in one of these brokerage houses to wake up and smell the coffee - Find out the size of this online market - how many people are daytrading, short term trading etc. see what their needs are and come up with a damn product - I bet Schwab will the one - Why does it always take a Damn agreesive American ( no oofense) to smarten up Canadians ( eg: WalMart - retail)

Thank you all who responded to my request. I've bookmarked ndir.com but it looks like I'm S.O.L. I'm moving my trading to US. When it comes to finance, Canadian industry sucks so much, it can suck start a CERN particle accelerator.
