Yousef,

I'm sorry Slick, the "facts" don't support your HYPE that OEM's are
running away from the PIII.

Give it a couple days to sink in. This CPUID hack is going to be worse than the FDIV bug for Intel. It couldn't have come at a worse time for them, either. It gives K6-3 a few extra weeks to get production volumes up.

yousef--

i think you are suffering from a hyperbole overdose.

yousef, AMD is here to stay. process problems wont last forever, and the margins will be there. the thing is, AMD has hung on this long, what happens when they start making real money and INTC starts feeling the squeeze?

P3 isnt going to sell well, bottom line. not when you can get an AMD box for under 1.5k that works as well as the 3 k box with the P3.while OEMs arent exactly rushing to abandon INTC, the writing is on the wall. thats why we have the innovative and utterly stupid segmentation strategy.

it wont work.

good luck to all,
trey
