thats the thing...the high margin generations are getting shorter and shorter...less time for INTC to get ahead technically.

the segmentation strategy doesnt work for one simple reason...the low end always canabalizes the high end in technology. INTC did it to SGI, now AMD is doing it to INTC.

the simple fact of the matter is that unless INTC ditches segmentation and starts pricing their state of the art at comparable prices to AMD devices, AMD is going to eat them alive.

the only caveat is the process tech. if they cant grow production cost effectively, the stock will go nowhere. maybe they should just farm out production to IBM or one of the fabs in asia.
