Most of my buys come from some form of a breakout where I like to see big volume. Mostly from a flat basing pattern.

In looking at the volume contraction do you prefer to see a flat consolidation area or does it matter to you whether the price is rising or falling?

I was reading a book and it stressed using indicators in a contrarian approach, like what you're doing. I like that, it makes sense to go against the flow of what seems instinctively logical.
