Brian,all,

Just a note on dsl subscriptions in LA area- I just signed up for
dsl at 50/mo in LA and I'm pretty happy with it. It's a limited time
offer deal (sign up before March 5,+$250.00 installation fee). I went
for it because the numbers work for the speed increase I obtained.I
kept a separate line at $20/mo. plus $20/mo for my isp=$40.00 for 56k.
The line isn't as fast as I thought it would be for browser based stuff but it rips along much better than 56K and should only get faster as things improve infra-structure wise. I think at this rate
a lot of people will switch over- 10 bucks more for an extra 300 K
is definitely worth it. If these companies can keep to these rates,I
think dsl will start to make itself ubiquitous. Covad supplies the
line, the LA provider is zyan.com .It's great to have this service after years of holding and reading about PAIR,WSTL,and the former AMTX. As of now though,I don't see any of my favorites working with COVD,best,p.b.
