US's Summers to meet Japan MITI chief on Saturday

TOKYO, Feb 25 (Reuters) - U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers will meet Japanese Trade Minister Kaoru Yosano on Saturday at the end of his Asia tour, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) said on Thursday.

The one-hour meeting is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. (2300 GMT) at the U.S. ambassador's official residence, the MITI official said.

A MITI official will hold a briefing after the meeting, he added.

The official said the topic of the meeting was still unknown, but Jiji news agency quoted MITI Vice Minister Osamu Watanabe as saying reform of the ''supply side'' of the Japanese economy would be discussed.

The meeting had been requested by the United States, the official added.

Sarmad <you are a little more extreme in your views> perhaps, but I did close out my puts last Thursday within a few points of the bottom and did not add a new spec position. My spec position on NEM by the way lasted all of one day -- an expiration play. I do own the stock, but not as a trading vehicle. For me to make money on AMZN puts I have to pretty much get it exactly right -- with shorts you have a different calculus -- also worth keeping in mind.
