I will eventually upgrade NN, but right now, 3.0 suits my needs and has significantly lower overhead.

The newer versions seem to be compiled using "bloatware" versions of (I assume) Visual C++, so they load slower, take up more HD space, and have too many "improved" configuration menus. As long as HTML holds the line on backwards compatibility, I will stay with my tried and true 128-bit encrypted version of 3.0.

Norton Anti-virus updates...

From experience, and from what some friends at Symantec told me, they usually try to update at least once a month, and will make updates more often if they made major progress in detecting new viruses or something really nasty.
