Dream W,

You did get the treatment! ;-) But, what is life about if there aren't arguments? Watching future trends and knowing where things are heading in the long term doesn't help that much in the short term in any stock, unfortunately. Good luck waiting for wcii to hit 5 bucks a share. ;-)

Steven B.,
Congrats!...along with the rest of many other posters. From what I know of you, you deserve the best! ;-)

i just became an uncle for the first time ~8 months ago, to my sister's daughter named Zoe and I couldn't be more proud! Made me realize how great and weird this whole human being thing can get every now and then. ;-)

cheers,
pigboy

"And why Argentina?"

I'll take this piece. I think the company has been pretty clear that the updated strategy is to become a global player. Initially, they stated that the goal was to become a national, facilities-based CLEC. That goal, while still bein realized, is well on its way. Then more recently, the strategy was updated and the company committed to be in six international markets by the end of 1999. So action in Europe, Asia and Latin America is what I would expect to see, not a surprise.

DW -

Also something happened in mid Jan. to bring us from the Low 40's to where we are today, anyone know what?

Actually my guess is that its the other way around ie it was down then it went up then there was a secondary and almost immediately after that it went down and looks very much like it hasn't stopped and probably won't.

Maybe they will need some more money and then have another secondary and then the price will go up before its sold. I've seen similar price movements either side of a secondary before ( SNDK Nov 97).

Anyway no doubt the shorts are having a ball yet again. Actualy I didn't expect the stock to break out of thelow teens till Q3 this year but when it was low I didn't know there was to be a secondary. My guess is that the short interest has increased by a lot in the last few weeks. Even if some of us were dumb enough to have looked the gift horse in the mouth at $40 some have been smart enough to sell short and keep doing it and must have made millions.

Sadly for the moment there is IMHO absolutely nothing to keep the stock price from falling to the teens. The market only looks at revenues and earnings growth even at the best of times which it must be admitted we aren'y in yet again. I don't think the market will react to plain old announceements while its in this kind of mood.
Regards,

L

<..If WCII currently has 40.5 million shares outstanding, and approx 10 million are Shorted out (or what ever the pros call it) does that mean that one quarter of the shares out, are loaned shares, and are in a practical sense currently betting that the price will fall?..>

Shorting (like most selling) indicates the expectation the stock will fall or no longer rise (except when done to raise cash for OTHER purposes).

For every buyer there is a seller - this is what makes a market - the buyer thinks the stock will go higher, the seller either thinks it won't or feels there are better uses for the money.

I am a buyer here and my time horizon is 6-18 months. I am looking for at LEAST a double and maybe a triple in stock price (with greater leveraged returns) from here sometime in that timeframe.

And fwiw, T1's can NOT be ordered like crazy. They are expensive, have limited availability, need to be provisioned, interfere with ADSL, and do not NEARLY satisfy the bandwidth needs enterprises are already clamoring for - and which needs are expected to increase significantly into the millenium.

<..Just Dreaming for a single digit price to buy..>

Dream on and good luck
