A: If there was a commitment to go, she would still have to explain;
B: She stated that she had been motivated to work for the campaign, but never said where her former husband stood on Clinton;
C: If her marriage were on the rocks, but she was unprepared for the final blow-up, that is all the more reason to not want to try to dally at home in a way that might arouse her husband's suspicion.
